Cosmoprof Asia 2012 promises to be even larger than last year’s event (shown here).
More than 1,800 exhibitors and over 48,500 attendees are expected to gather in Hong Kong on November 14-16, for the 17th edition of Cosmoprof Asia. The popular beauty event for the Asian market includes five product sectors, aiming to cover the entire spectrum of the beauty industry: Cosmetics & Toiletries, Pack & OEM, Beauty Salon, Hair Salon and Natural Health. The exhibition floor space will increase by 9% over 2011, due in part to an increasing number of exhibitors in the Beauty Salon sector.

For the 6th consecutive year, Cosmoprof Asia will organize the International Buyer Program to facilitate contact between exhibitors and international buyers.

Among this year’s anticipated trends: the application of nanotechnologies in the production of skincare and makeup formulas; holistic and multifunctional products; an increase in men’s toiletries and cosmetics; and BB creams.

In the cosmetic packaging sector, expect eco-friendly and sustainable packaging to reflect the industry trend. A particular innovation here is in the use of QR tags. These codes appear on the packaging of cosmetics, and lead to detailed information on composition, producer, and environmental criteria of production.

Canada and Brazil join this year’s list of national pavilions at the event.
